Community & Solidarity

Since the beginning, Montagne Verte has focused on bringing people together to build a community around a shared love of our environment.

Climate change is an intimidating subject and can sometimes leave us feeling overwhelmed and helpless as an individual which is why belonging to a community is so important.

What we've done

Food Share

We organised a Food Share ‘Free Shop’ in the two days preceding the first Covid lockdown. This allowed people who found themselves without work or income to access food supplies which would otherwise have gone to waste.

Shop & Collection Point

The Montagne Verte shop provides affordable second hand clothing and outdoor gear for local residents and seasonnaires, ensuring that mountain sports can be accessible for all.

Climb it for climate

Organised in partnership with our friends One Tree at a Time, these events bring people together and get everyone outdoors and climbing mountains to raise climate awareness. We have also organised several banner making workshops, bringing together the more creative members of the community.

Litter picks

We have promoted and gathered attendees for local litterpicks organised by Morzine-Avoriaz and other environmental association Bee’Leaf.
